Summer will be here in no time!!! Wa
Who!!! I know all of you are ready for a much needed break. I hope
all of you enjoy your summer. However, in the mean time, the month of May
will be extremely busy. You’ll have lots of activities going on with School.
Let's see, there is a musical (42nd
Street), a spring football game, prom, finals,
graduations, awards ceremonies, and so on. So, being the good Youth
Pastor I am, I decided to complicate your schedules a little bit more. The
Student Ministry at CIMC will also be active this month. Currently, we
are planning a service project on the 17th of May, a spaghetti lunch fundraiser
for camp on the 18th, graduation Sunday to honor our graduates on the 25th, and
a photo scavenger hunt and movie (Prince Caspian) on the 31st. I
know that seems crazy. I just want to make sure I offer some things for
those of you that want to attend. Don't feel obligated to come, but if
you have the time and want to attend we would love to have you.
I would ask all of you to be in prayer for our Student Ministry as we
prepare and move through a productive summer. We’ll have lots of things
available this summer. The biggest, of course, is our summer camp.
This year we will be going back to Shocco Springs in Alabama. Our speaker will be Marshall
Daigre, and we also plan to have some other guests with us. Just like last
year, we will have paintball, ropes course, and motorized toilets; you know the
usual.
Also, as last year, there will be a preteen and teen camp. Therefore, grades
2-12 are invited. Our camp will be July 27th through 31st. Plan now to
attend. And do forget to start inviting your friends. We want to
take 50 students from our church.
Remember to continue to feed your spiritual bodies, as you do your physical.
Neglecting either can be dangerous. Let me leave you with a question to
think about. If Christ wanted to do one thing through you this week what
would it be?
